NGO Ukrainian Pacifist Movement was founded in 2019 to advocate, practice and protect human rights to peace and to conscientious objection to military service, to work, research, educate for peaceful conflict management, disarmament, peace culture, to strengthen nonviolent way of life and democratic civilian control over military affairs.
Areas of our peace work:
☮ Uphold human right to refuse to kill! We claim legal right to conscientious objection to military service according to international human rights standards, helping to advocate and defend the right to refuse to kill.
☮ Stop the war in Ukraine and all wars in the world! We call for an immediate ceasefire, fair inclusive peace talks, and worldwide transition towards nonviolent society.
☮ Build Peace! We help civilians to survive and live peacefully and happily, remaining civilians. We tell the truth, give hope, help the needy, study and teach peaceful conflict resolution and nonviolent way of life. We strengthen solidarity of peace-loving people and peace movement.
War is a crime against humanity. Therefore, we are determined not to support any kind of war and to strive for the removal of all causes of war.
We understand that wars and militarism make us less safe rather than protect us, that they kill, injure and traumatize adults, children and infants, severely damage the natural environment, erode civil liberties, and drain our economies, siphoning resources from life-affirming activities. We commit to engage in and support nonviolent efforts to end all war and preparations for war and to create a sustainable and just peace.
